Obituary for Stephen Martin Nevill

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 56. He will be greatly missed by his father Albert George Nevill, sisters Jackie "JK" and Kristine, brother Karl and brothers-in-law Daniel and Steve Matunin (Nancy) whom he considered a brother. Special thanks to Lisa, who was by Stephen's side throughout his illness. Stephen is now at peace, with his mum Catherine. He was a dedicated officer who served on the Toronto Police Force for 32 years, retiring at 51. Stephen was a snowbird, who enjoyed spending winters at his home in AZ. He had a great sense of humour and was the life of the party. A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful staff at Grand River Hospital. It was Stephen's wish to be cremated. Please remember Stephen the way you knew him. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A public celebration of Stephen's life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trillium Gift of Life Network would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Visit www.henrywalser.com for Stephen's memorial.
