Bakermann, Sigrid:

Born in Alse, a hamlet just outside of Rodenkirchen Germany. A life long resident of Kitchener after arriving here with her family as an infant.

Dear sister of Gunda Boterman (Ian) and John Bakermann (Nicole).

Predeceased by her parents Anton Guenther Bakermann and Martha Elfriede Bakermann (Laverenz).

Remembered by many aunts uncles and cousins both here and in Germany as well as by her devoted friends, Hilda, Yogi, Connie and Mary who supported her throughout her health challenges. Sincere gratitude to Pastor Astley of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for continuous support and recent daily devotions.

Sigi passed away peacefully at Hospice Waterloo Region after lengthy illnesses with multiple cancers which she faced head on with a positive attitude and deep determination. Sigi was a people person with a great work ethic which served her well in her various careers. A popular hairstylist for many years at The Apple Stylist on Queen St, an educator with Goldwell Hair products where she traveled extensively teaching advanced hair colour theory to hair professionals and most recently as a sales consultant with Home Depot Waterloo.

Sigi was proud of her German heritage and a long-time member of Concordia Club. She loved trying new things, exploring new places, especially Europe, and was always up for the next adventure. She had a big heart and was a woman of deep faith which provided comfort as life presented its many challenges.

Special thanks to the 6th floor nurses and doctors at Grand River Hospital and the incredible staff at Hospice Waterloo Region, these people are absolutely earth angels and provided comfort and compassion every step of the way.
