Obituary for Selma "Sally" Cain

Cain, Selma (Sally):

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Trinity Village Care Centre at the age of 97.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Edward (who would have turned 100 on the date of her death), her siblings Mary Wipperman and Sister Pauline Gill, her parents Gertrude and William Gill and her son-in-law James Woodhouse.

She will be sadly missed by her son Dan Cain (Sue) and daughter Patricia Woodhouse.

Loving grandmother of Melissa Bieth (Shaun),Michael Woodhouse (Melissa) and Geoffrey Cain (Kelly). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Brayden and Jackson Bieth, James, Jacob and Charlotte Woodhouse and Jackson and Charlotte Cain.

Sally loved her family and we all cherish the gift of her many poems she wrote for and about us.

Sally was a long-time member of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and was a member of its choir for many years.

Many thanks to the staff at Trinity Village on Oakridge Floor and Dr. Casey. A special thank-you to her Walker Street neighbours, Ann and Ed and Dave and Carrie.

Sally's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 8, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 with prayers at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Aloysius R.C. Church 11 Traynor Ave. Kitchener, Ontario N2C 1W1 on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery with a time of fellowship and refreshment back at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
