Obituary for Sara Brantsch

Brantsch, Sara

On Monday July 10th, 2023, Sara Brantsch passed away peacefully at Barnswallow Place in Elmira, Ontario in her 104th year.

Sara was born August 17th, 1919, in Zukmantel, Romania. During the war the Kramer family had to leave their beloved homeland traveling through Austria, Nova Scotia and onto Ontario where they settled in Berlin (Kitchener). Sara worked throughout her whole life laboring in the tobacco fields to working for numerous doctors as a domestic engineer while Johann worked as a brick layer. When Sara lost Johann, she found love again many years later and eventually married Andreas. Sara loved to entertain her family and friends through out her life and welcomed any into her home that loved to eat. Sara was a proud longtime member of the Transylvania Club. She worshiped at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Kitchener for many years.

Sara will be lovingly remembered by her children Erika Breau (Mike Meyer), Hilda Weber (Dave). Grandchildren Lisa Lefebre (Greg), Krista Zintz, Sara Robinson (Rich), Kathleen de Leeuw (David), Frank Orsan (Shonna), and Scott Orsan. Great Grandmother of Claire (Nolan), Gabe (Lizzy), Boyd (Bridget), Luc (Autumn), Kree-Lynn (Bastien), Ayden, Leah, Katherine, Beatrix, and her Great-Great Granddaughter Juniper.

Sara will also be dearly missed by Benny Breau, Liz Smith (Brian), Gerhardt, Guenther (Trina), Kyle, Tyler, Rosemarie (Shawn), Sammie (Ryan), Lorelai, Brixlee, Stephanie (Jonny) and Robbie Frasca.

Sara was pre-deceased by her parents Johann and Katharina Kramer, first husband Johann Zintz (1966), second husband Andreas Brantsch (2008), sisters Katharina Kramer (Johann) and Regina Breckner (George) and brothers John, Michael, and Karl, her only son Helmut Zintz, grandson Dominic and granddaughter Marianne Orsan.

Visitation will be held at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Sunday, July 16th, 2023, from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 17th, 2023, in the chapel at 10:30 am.

Reception to follow the service at the funeral home and Interment will be held St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society, Breast Cancer Canada, or Canadian Cancer Society-Prostate Cancer (cards available at the funeral home).

The family would also like to express a special thank you to the Nurses and PSW’s at Barnswallow Place, especially Barb, Tye, and Amanda.
