July 31, 1942 - May 8, 2023
Sandra's last moments were as she wished, peaceful and surrounded by her children.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, daughter Nancy, parents Gord and Elsie Gill, brother Doug and grandson Adam.
Loving mother to Lisa Horst (Peter), Terri Henderson (Brian), Cathy Henderson (Lachlan) and Gord Henderson.
Cherished Nana to Lauren (Mike), Danielle (Brad), Emily (Mario), Kate, Nashira (David), Shannon (Clint), Ariel, Jordan, (Kassandra), Tyler (Jessica), Jacob, Ashley (Jesse), and Billy.
Special Great-Nana to Nora, Renee, Naomi, Harley, Everly, Jonah, Isaac, Aleeya and Parker.
Sandra will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Sandra's greatest joy was the people in her family. She was very proud of each and every one of them, never missing a chance to brag about them and share a story.
Following the death of her daughter Nancy, Sandra became an active member of MADD Canada. She devoted 20 years to MADD in various roles from Victim Support to President of the Waterloo Region MADD Chapter. Her years of service were recognized when she received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 KW Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year ceremony.
Sandra's family would Like to thank the caring staff at Columbia Forest LTC, with a special mention to her roommate Marylou Steip who helped mom out whenever she could.
Visitation will take place on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 9:30-10:15 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
