It is with deep sadness we announce that Rodney passed away, due to health complications, on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 57. Beloved husband of Shelly (nee Henkel). Proud father of Kayla "Bug". Loving son of Ronald and Ruth Schenk. Brother of Ronda Schenk (Mark Whitfield). Dear son-in-law of Robert and Joan Henkel and brother-in-law of Sheryl Henkel-Gerber and Shane Henkel (Shannon). Uncle Rod will be fondly remembered by Michael (Sarah), Jakob, Julie, Jaime and Joel. Sadly missed by his furry friend Ollie. Rodney's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial Service in the chapel on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow. Private interment at a later date at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Through his donation to the Trillium Gift of Life Network, Rodney has been able to improve the lives of several people. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Christ Lutheran Church - Waterloo or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
