MY ULTIMATE TEAMMATE

Dear Sue and family, Schnurzy was certainly a great man. When I think back of those first 2 years with Shaky in Peterborough with the Petes, I recall how he could light up a room immediately upon entering it. Mainly with that infectious enthusiasm which he carried with him everywhere. To be able to be everyones friend in laughter, stories and silliness and then, to be able lead a Junior OHL team with class as captain and have the respect of each and every one of us, is a remarkable, balancing feat! A feat that he gets an A+ for! Especially that 2nd year under Mr Young. So make that an A+ with honours!! He went on to play at Western University with one of my 53 yr. life long buddies and I recall buddy telling me that he was immediately one of the guys, the first day he arrived. There was zero boastfulness about having played in the OHL> Nothing. I guess that really sums up how well grounded and classy he was. I had no idea he was in a 10 year battle but we as his teammates all know why he made 10 years..because he was a battler, just like he played. There was no quit in that guy!! Rest in peace teammate and prayers and thoughts are with you and the girls Mark kirton
