Condolence: My sincere condolences on your loss. I have often been thinking of Bob since his passing. He taught me me a lot and he would often chat about family and fixing houses while I worked on the microscope. I will greatly miss those chats. I am sorry that times are the way they are and we can't deliver our sympathies in person.

Condolence: Dear Kathleen and the Harris family. My heartfelt condolences on your loss of a tremendous husband and father. I remember so many great times with Bob and the Micro gang, especially the ball games and other intramural sports we played together. Bob was a great friend to everyone. We will all miss him greatly.

Condolence: Dear Kathleen & Family,

My sincere condolences on your loss. Our "AAC" lunchroom is not going to be the same without Bob - he was there every day, listening to our crazy shenanigans, telling us stories about his family, talking about whatever the topic of the day was, or simply reading his library book while eating apple slices. I miss him already.

Condolence: Sincere condolences Kathleen and family. I remember Bob arriving for his first interview at the University 40+ years ago. Bob enjoyed his family, the cottage and good food. Bob always took time to ask about my family and tell me all about his children and grandchildren. He was one proud grandpa.

Condolence: My recent graduate students Leanne Sargent, Erin Flannigan and Chris Heirwegh join me in offering our deepest condolences for the Harris family's sad loss. Bob was generous with expert advice and practical help, from which our research benefited greatly. He was always kind and patient with newcomers to my lab who needed to use the electron probe preparation equipment. For all four of us he was part of our lives. We shall greatly miss him.

Your Bob, Father and Grandpa was a wonderful man. Bob was so caring and nothing seem to bother him. He went with the flow and had a wonderful sense of humor. We will all miss Bob and his fun ways.

Condolence: Sometimes when you loose a loved one, it takes time to set in. Late last week, my father-in-law Robert passed away. There are so many what if’s and I wish if, but it’s better to remember the good times and hang on to those as tightly as you can.
Like all the summer family get togethers, playing in the pool while “jump papa jump” echo’s through the whole neighborhood, and sitting on the back deck after a long day, just enjoying a cold one.
Just coming over to visit and sitting and watching leafs, jays, or whatever was on at the time, hearing about the daily stories of what the grandkid’s rambled on about that day.
all the times, fixing, working, or building something at the cottage, eaten alive by mosquitoes, and after that the evening on the lake trolling along, not caring if we get a bite or not.
And most of all, being told nobody likes a smartass, a sly smile, and a giggle as he walks into the other room.
I have a many more wonderful memories, but most of all someone who can be remember as, an amazing father, husband, papa, and most of all, an amazing human. I was so grateful to have to time I did with bob as my father-in-law.

Condolence: Dear Kathleen and family, I was so sorry to hear that you have lost Bob. I know I join with many others who express their sincere condolences. Bob was involved with Guelph's electron microscopy facility from the very beginning and over the years contributed considerably to the remarkable research that came out of that facility. That is a fine legacy. Bob will be fondly remembered. With deepest sympathy.
