Brusso, Rita (Nee Bleiler)
September 18th, 1922 - October 26th, 2022
Rita passed quietly at home in Kitchener after celebrating her 100th birthday this past September 18th. She enjoyed her day, especially the family and friends who helped make it so special. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the palliative team from the Waterloo Wellington LHIN for their dedication and support which made her last days comfortable.
Rita is the last survivor of seven children born to Frank and Sarah Bleiler. She grew up on Hamilton St. in Preston, ON, attending St, Clements Church and school. She spent many years working at Savage Shoe. Rita had a natural talent for fashion and decor and found pleasure in baking. She also enjoyed traveling on the many family vacations during her life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold (1991), whom she was married to just shy of fifty years. Together they lived first in Preston and then spent many years enjoying their home in New Dundee. Sadly her daughter, Lynn passed away in 2010, leaving behind her two remaining children Robert and Lori. She will be missed by her grandchildren Jason (Lisa), Mark (Breanne), Jaclyn (Ian) and Brad (Amanda) and her great-grandchildren Rachael, Kyle and Blake. She will be missed by her special fur-baby, Toby, who offered her great companionship for many years.
Rita was a woman of deep inner faith, which provided her strength and courage throughout her long life.
In accordance to her wishes a private ceremony was held at Henry Walser Funeral Home (507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467).
As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington or Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society.
