Childhood

Who was Batman and who was Robin? Trips to my family cottage. Pretending we were the Monkeys and playing tennis racket guitars in the basement. Splashing in a backyard wading pool full of floating grass clippings. Turning our trikes over and pretending they were heavy machinery. Waving at the dump truck drivers passing by. Going door to door collecting baskets to sell back to vendors at the Kitchener market. You were always still up playing outside when I was in my flannel pajamas being put to bed on a hot summers evening. I remember these things and I will remember you my friend.
