Shepherd, Richard George:
Passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 76.
Born in Montreal to George and Claudia Shepherd.
Beloved husband of Dianne.
Loving father of Erin Shepherd-Prewo (Chris Prewo, husband) and Ryan Shepherd (Nikki Shepherd, wife).
Cherished grandfather of Avery, Hudson, Blake and Jones.
Dear brother of Nancy Louman and David Shepherd.
Best friend to his dog, Copper.
We remember Rick as a loving and generous man. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Rick was a member of Deer Ridge Golf Club and Eagle Creek Golf Club in Naples, Florida. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1975 in the Civil Engineering program. After university he worked for Steed & Evans. From 1976 to 1979, he worked for CIDA in Malawi, Africa. In 1979 he joined Conestoga-Rovers & Associates and was a proud owner. He later worked for GHD until retirement.
Rick and Dianne were married in 1968 in Kingston, Ontario and were married for 54 years. Rick enjoyed traveling and visited all seven continents in his lifetime. He was a lover of fine food and drinks. Rick was a friend to all animals and loved his family’s pets.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Rick's life will be held from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, December 4th at Deer Ridge Golf Club, 200 Deer Ridge Drive, Kitchener. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 519-749-8467.
