Obituary for Renate Carson
Renate Charlotte Carson, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2023 at Grand River Hospital-Freeport.
Renate was born on February 6th, 1942, to Wolfgang and Gertrude Sass in Germany.
Renate came to Canada as child with her family and studied Business/Accounting.
Beloved wife of the late George Carson (2022). Survived by her sons Peter (Tanya) and Robert Meyer, and George's children: Glenda Buck (Ted), Frank (Roberte), and John (Carol).She is predeceased by her first husband, Heinrich Meyer and her siblings: Wolfgang Sass, Brigitte Peterson and Ingelore Trafford. She is survived by Marianne Durbano. She is also missed by many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Renate loved to travel, knit and craft. She had a passion for music. She was an amazing cook and greatly enjoyed to share her meals with her family. She spent many winters in Aruba with her late husband George. She will be deeply missed.
Renate's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Kitchener - Waterloo Humane Society or the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
