Verdecchia, Rafael:
Passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto at the age of 87.
Rafael was the beloved husband of the late Elvira (2016) whom he cared for scrupulously in her last year at home. The loving father of Guillermo (Tamsin), Alejandro (Liam) and Roberto (Sigrid) and proud grandfather of Anais, Theo and Linnea, Rafael loved the outdoors and a good asado. He will be sorely missed by his immediate family in Canada, his extended family in the US and Argentina, his many friends and the many people he assisted regularly in ways large and small.
Rafael's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 4, 2022, at St. Agnes R.C. Church, 75 Bluevale St N, Waterloo. Reception to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to one of Rafael's favourite charities: Canadian Food for Children, Doctors Without Borders or Covenant House (cards available at the funeral home).
