Obituary for Phyllis Matilda Geiger (Fries)

Geiger, Phyllis Matilda (nee Fries)
On Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the age of 90, our hardworking, strong, vivacious, kind and generous matriarch went, with her contagious laugh, to be with her Lord. Beloved wife of the late Arlen Geiger (1999). Loving mother of Cathy and her husband Dale Kennedy. Devoted Grandma of Dawn (Mike) Zuber and Deb (Phil) Panchaud. Proud "GG" of Alanna and Justin Zuber and Samantha and Jessica Panchaud. Daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Fries (Goodwin). Dear sister of Elaine (late Bud), Earl (Jackie), Ross (Carla), Doug (late Shirley), Gary (late Lorraine) and the late Murray (May), Wilbert, Joyce (Ron), Robert and Butch (Shirley). Survived by sisters-in-law Shirley and Molly. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Phyllis was raised in Bridgeport and worked at Uniroyal Merchants until retirement. She was an active member with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgeport and the ELW. Phyllis loved her time spent at the lake, playing cards and travelling. A special thank you to all the staff at Lanark Heights for their 9 years of love and care.
Phyllis' family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 544 Bridgeport Rd., on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment Parkview Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall. Always a smile, instead of a frown. Always a hand, when one was down. Always true, thoughtful and kind, what wonderful memories you left behind.
