Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones at St. Mary's Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of Sharon and the late Barb (2009). Loving father of Richard Groen, Jeannette Taranto (Vito), Shari Mannsfeldt (David) and the late John Groen (2011). Survived by daughter-in-law Tracy Groen. Proud Grandpa of Brianna, Dustin (Darby), Brendan, Allyshia, Jacqueline, Joseph and Nathan. Son of the late John and Fenna Groen. Dear brother of Allan (Barb), Rose, Keith (Wyn), Jim (Rayma), Anne Jan (Zuzana), Yvonne (Peter) and the late Eddie. He will be fondly remembered by Shawn and Trevor Hibbs and their families.
Peter was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved woodworking, travelling, camping and fishing with the kids. He retired from Chrysler Windsor Local 444 as a pipefitter.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial Service at Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Rd., on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. A reception to celebrate Peter's life will follow in the church hall.
