Passed away at home after a difficult but brief illness on Friday December 25, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
Beloved husband of 68 years to Elfriede Ristau (nee Tolks).
Dear Papa of Ruth Ristau and Gertrud Morell.
Loving Opa to Kim Morell (Travis Southern) and Sylvia Morell (Zac Drennan). Also survived by a great-grandson, Maverick Southern.
Predeceased by his parents and three brothers Reinhart, Hermann and Robert.
Oskar came to Canada in 1948 to start a new life after World War II.
He was a long-time member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church and retired from Ontario Die Company after many years of service.
Oskar enjoyed improving things in his old house, such as redoing the plumbing and electricity, making kitchen cupboards and painting the house. He was able to complete these projects even though he had limited formal education. During his retirement years he enjoyed transforming discarded and broken items into garden art to beautify his well maintained property. His creativity and problem solving will be missed.
