Predeceased by his parents Oscar and Florence and sister Helen (Don), stepdaughter Aryss Branden.

Oscar Louis George was born in Kitchener into the Lippert family. His forbears emigrated from Germany in the 1800’s and settled into Berlin (now Kitchener). They later made their mark in the furniture and clock manufacturing business.

Oscar married Doris Schmidt in 1950 and they had two sons, Gerry and Ron. Many happy summer camping adventures, holidays, and birthdays were shared with the Molson and Schmidt families.
Oscar married Jean Losch who had two grown daughters, Susan (Aryss) and Marilyn in 1981.

Square dancing, singing in the church choir, coffee at McDonald’s with the ‘gang’, fishing for salmon in Georgian Bay, and enjoying their cottage at Barrow Bay with family and friends brought many happy hours for Oscar and Jean.

Oscar spent his working career with Bell for over 35 years. Later he had the opportunity to enjoy singing with the Twin City Harmonizers and going away to compete with other barber shoppers!

In 2017 Oscar moved into Elmira Chartwell Retirement with Jean by his side. Sadly, she died in 2021 and Oscar braved it alone at Chartwell for another year. His various health challenges led to hospital visits during the winter and spring of 2022 and finally to Long Term Care at Nithview home where he stayed for less than 2 weeks before passing away. He is gone, but never to be forgotten by his loving family.

Oscar's family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. on Monday, May 16th, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, with a service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at Woodland Cemetery on Tuesday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
