A constant loving presence in my life

Aunty Muriel was someone who had so many connections with people: family, foster children, distant relatives, but when I was with her, it was like I was the only important person in her life. She always remembered what was going on with me, sent me a birthday and Christmas card with a personal message every year, and was always happy to talk on the phone when I called. Because of Aunty Muriel and Uncle John, my brother, Terry, and I have years of happy summer memories of farm vacations, where I learned to ride a bike, swim in a creek, play with kittens, get used to cows and drink fresh milk from a vat... all things many city kids like me never got to do! One of my fondest memories was falling asleep with my cousin, Irene, listening to the voices of Aunty Muriel and my mom, Irene, waft upstairs through a vent that led from the kitchen to the upper hallway. How comforting to hear them chatting, as they did for many years, as sisters. Thank you, Aunty Muriel, for all the many ways you showed your love to me. I will miss you and remember you always. Love, Lynn
