Michael Hope McIntosh, who departed from this world on January 18, 2024, at the age of 75, he was a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a cherished member of our family.

Michael Hope McIntosh was born on March 14, 1948, and brought immeasurable joy to our lives. His warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering support touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether through his kindness, sense of humour, or the valuable life lessons he shared, he left an indelible mark on our hearts.

He graduated from West Indies teacher’s college in Jamaica. He emigrated to Canada in the 1980s and settled in Toronto. He worked as a barber at Castries, on Eglinton West, for many years. He loved his family dearly and was passionate about his faith in God and his church family. He enriched the lives of those around him. His legacy extends beyond family, reaching into the communities he touched with his generosity and kindness.

Michael Hope McIntosh is survived by Raina Lewis (daughter), Marvin McIntosh (son), grandchildren Acosia,Tanisha, Asha, Blake, and 2 great grandchildren. Veda Williams (sister), Rena French (sister), and Paulette Williams (sister).
Predeceased by his late wife, Muriel McIntosh.
Predeceased by his parents, Ruth and Noel McIntosh, and his siblings, Hyacinth, Winston, and Basil McIntosh. He is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, and his congregation.

We find solace in the memories we shared, the lessons he imparted, and the love that will forever bind us to him.

Michael’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00–8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31st, 2023, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, at Kingdom Community International Church (533 Weber St., Kitchener).

A celebration of Michael Hope McIntosh’s life will follow at church at 11:00 a.m. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed via livestream at

Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering and honouring this remarkable man in fellowship in the church hall after the burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Diabetes Canada in Michael Hope McIntosh’s name.

As we mourn the loss of Michael Hope McIntosh, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives and the profound impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
