Obituary for Mary Mabel Swayze

Swayze, Mary Mabel (nee Wilkins)
Oct 25, 1933- Dec 7, 2023

Passed away peacefully on Dec 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, in her 91st year.
Beloved wife and best friend of the late Clifford Swayze (2016) for 59 years.
Most wonderful and loving mother of Curt Swayze (Karen), Kim Swayze and Kelly Lalonde.
Proud gramma to Tyler Nevius, Shelby Nevius, Colin Swayze, Aaron Swayze, Jordan Swayze, Estée Lalonde and Eric Lalonde.
Great gramma to Aubree Ver Baan, Oakley Nevius and Austin Nevius.
Dear sister of Wilbur Wilkins, Helen Rose , Grace Weigand and predeceased by Donny Kinzie (2005).
Survived by her sister-in-law Corrine Youngblut and brother-in-law Alan Swayze whom she loved so very much. Also many nieces and nephews. Family was everything to her.
Mary was such a light in this world. She always had a smile on her face and had a wonderful sense of humour.
She met Cliff in 1957 on a blind date and the two never spent a day apart.
She was a wonderful cook and baker, excellent cracker and cheese maker, could patch anything, skilled knitter and gardener and loved to do puzzles. She had limitless talents. She was a devoted and loving wife , mother and gramma and was so adored.
Over the years she made life long friendships working at Columbia Custom Cabinets as a masterful woodworker and then worked in retail at Towers and Zellers at the Customer Service desk.
She was a proud member and devoted Christian at Calvary United Church in St Jacobs for many, many years until her health failed.
She had a great love for birds, any animal and very compassionate towards people.
She was generous with her time and affection as well as freely donating to charitable causes.
Like Cliff, she will be missed immensely.
A celebration of life will be planned in the spring, where her friends and family can gather and share stories and fellowship to honour her unforgettable legacy
Cliff often sang this Tex Ritter song to her and before he passed, he told her he would wait for her....

“I'LL WALK JUST BEYOND THE MOON THEN I'LL STOP AND WAIT FOR YOU”
I'LL JUST SIT THERE BY A STAR AND I'LL WATCH YOU FROM AFAR
TIL I SEE YOU WALKING TOWARD ME SOMEDAY SOON
THEN TOGETHER HAND IN HAND WE'LL FIND OUR PROMISED LAND
AND WE'LL SETTLE DOWN FOREVER DARLIN' JUST BEYOND THE MOON."
Love you, your family.
