Mary Ellen "Maime" Dando (nee Beechey)
Our wonderful mother, granny and great-granny Maime Dando passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Lanark Heights LTC.
Beloved wife of the late James Dando (2021).
Loving mother of Jim (Lisa) and Jane.
Dear Granny to Leanna (Vinny) and Amy (Derek).
Great-grandmother of Charlotte, Thomas and Gunner.
Predeceased by her parents John and Edith and her sister Janice Robertson.
She will be missed and remembered by many relatives and friends.
Maime never forgot a birthday or special occasion which included her homemade sugar cookies, Reid's chocolates and many gifts and cards. She also enjoyed watching hockey especially her beloved Boston Bruins. She loved being involved in her clubs - the dining out club and her crazy eight club.
The Celebration of Maime's life will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener (519-749-8467) on Friday, July 28th, 2023 from 5:00-8:00pm. Sandwiches, desserts, fruit and refreshments to be served.
The family will privately inter Mary Ellen at Mountview Cemetery at a later date.
Maime's family would like to extend a thank you to the staff and nurses at Lanark Heights LTC and private caregivers over the 2 last years for their compassionate care.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Make-A-Wish Canada - Southwestern ON or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
