Martha Hilda Schultz
February 23, 1938 – February 3, 2021
On February 3 after a brief illness, Martha passed into eternal rest with her Saviour at Chartwell
Westmount Long Term Care home. Beloved mother of Ken (Angela) and Karen Dyck (John), dear Omi of Amelia Howe (Stephen), Caleb Dyck, Timothy and Laura Schultz.
Lovingly remembered by her extended family, church community and many friends. Pre-deceased by husband George (1985) and four brothers.
Martha was born in Bluffton, Alberta, the daughter of Edward and Bertha Schultz, and youngest of five children. She was raised on a farm until age 12, when the family moved to Wetaskiwin, Alberta. In 1961, Martha moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba and married George Schultz in June of 1962. In 1999, she moved to Ontario, joining her children there, and resided in Waterloo Region for the last 22 years. Martha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed time with family, traveling anywhere, especially long road trips to the mountains, preparing special dinners, baking delicious treats, and catching up with friends, whether in person or on the phone. Martha faithfully attended congregations of the Church of God her entire life, in Wetaskiwin, Winnipeg and Waterloo, and joyfully participated in choirs for many years. Even in her final months in COVID-19 lockdown at Westmount LTC, she cherished every opportunity to sing hymns, join in recreational activities, and Zoom with her children and grandchildren.
Family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caring staff in the Williamsburg community at Westmount LTC.
