It is with regret that we announce the death of Marguerite (Godin) Fortier on Friday, February 7 at Kitchener Hospital at the age of 76 after a long battle with her health problems (diabetes, dialysis, and heart).

Marguerite was a native of Kapuskasing.

Marguerite is survived by her husband Gilles Fortier of 59 years, her daughter Diane Fortier (Charmaine) and her granddaughter Zoe.

Marguerite was the third in a family of 16 children. She will be missed by her brothers Antonio (Florence) Godin de Sarnia, Arthur Godin from Kapuskasing, Rene Godin (Martine) from Moonbeam, Denis Godin (Debbie) from Moonbeam and her sisters Therese from Vancouver, Simone Hachez (Roger) from Moonbeam, Lise Daoust (Roger) from Moonbeam, Cecile Chevalier (Charlie) from Val Rita, Lucie Rodrigue (Maurice) from Kapuskasing, Noella Godin (Sylvain) from Ottawa and Rachelle Poitras (Rene) from Kapuskasing.

She will also be remembered by her sister-in-law Marie Godin (late Jean Guy) and her sister-in-law Linda Godin (late Gilles) of Kapuskasing and handsome Brother-in-law Raymond Duchaine (late Florence) as well as several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded by her parents Nelson and Yvette Godin as well as two brothers Jean Guy Godin and Gilles Godin and her two sisters Jeannine Godin and Florence Godin Duchaine.

Marguerite's family will receive relatives and friends from 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, Ontario. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 4:30 p.m. with reception to follow. Private cremation to take place.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Diabetes Canada or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
