Spracklin-Murphy, Joan:

Passed away peacefully on June 1, 2019 at Lapointe-Fisher Nursing Home in Guelph, ON in her 83rd year. Joan was born in Brigus, Conception Bay, NL.

She is predeceased by her daughter Debbie her mother Pearl, father Lewis, step-mother Mary and her two brothers Malcolm and Calvin.

Left to mourn are her sons Chris (Lee) and Steve, sisters Ruth of Texas and Daphne of Plattsville, ON, brother Ralph (Sherry) of Barrie, ON, sisters-in-law Ruth (Malcolm) of St. John's, NL and Lorraine (Calvin) of Bradford, ON. She will also be missed by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joan also had fond remembrances of Rosemary and Tony, Donna and Leyton for their kindness and friendship over the years.

Joan was a very unselfish person. She always put the needs of others before her own and even when she did not have a lot she always had something to give. She took a special interest in sponsoring children overseas.

A special thank-you to the staff at Lapointe-Fisher for their loving care.

Joan's family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation with lunch will be continued on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
