Uncle Lorne's visit to Australia

It was good to share in Uncle Lorne's visit to Australia when we were living in Queensland in May 2012. In Brisbane he enjoyed seeing Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where we saw some eagles. Uncle Lorne was pretty relaxed around the eagle, maybe as he raised a hawk as a pet, when he was a young boy. We drove up to Mt Coot-tha and and we introduced him to Frank's family in Brisbane where we celebrated our nephew, Callum's 11th birthday. On Sunday we attended the service at Woolloongabba Lutheran Church in Brisbane, where Frank's parents worship and we took Uncle Lorne to lunch at the German club. We took him to the museum in Gympie and we enjoyed a steam train ride to Imbil and back. We also went for a walk around the Duck Pond and saw lots of bird life. Uncle Lorne went to the Gympie Show where together we saw all sorts of machinery, animals and woodchopping. Josiah showed Uncle Lorne his school with Maurice our dog and Josiah and he played a game of totem tennis. We farwelled him at Sunshine Coast Airport, where he flew back to Melbourne to see his sister, Reta (my mother) one last time.
