Obituary for Lisa Maureen Scotchmer

Scotchmer, Lisa Maureen
Our dear Lisa passed away suddenly on May 16, 2021. She was born on January 18, 1971. Lisa leaves behind her parents Jayne and Ross Gimbel with broken hearts. Over the years we tried so hard to save her. Predeceased by her biological father Jim Scotchmer. Survived by her dear brother Larry, step-brother Trevor (Donna), step-sister Tracy, nephews Ryan, Gwyn, Owen and Kyle and her niece Kate. She will be sadly missed by her Aunt Karen and Uncle Jack, Aunt Ruby and Uncle Dave, and Aunt Kathy (Uncle Bruce predeceased). Also predeceased is her Uncle Paul, who actually wrote a song for Lisa many years ago. Lisa also leaves behind many dear cousins. A special mention of our daughter-in-law Jarka as well as Joan and Mel. They have been a great support in our life. We would also like to thank our very dear friends and neighbours for their support for Ross and I during this very difficult time. Lisa grew up in Kitchener. She was a delightful child and became an excellent hairdresser. She was a beautiful woman and so very kind and generous. Over the years her life became turbulent, making bad choices and reckless living. Lisa struggled for years with prescription drugs and street drugs. The drugs took her away from us. Whenever Lisa and I talked on the phone, or when we saw each other, we always closed the conversation with, "Happy dreams - I love you". Lisa we hope now you are out of pain and can have peace. You will be so missed. Due to Covid there will be no service. Private cremation arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home (519) 749-8467. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or Addiction Research Foundation would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
