Cousins

Kim & I were first cousins. We had the honour of being the youngest daughters of the McIntosh sisters Dena & Audrey. Kim, Robert, Steven and I spent a lot of time together as young children before the Scott family moved to Waterloo.I was so envious they had the game Mousetrap! We spent hours playing on Victoria Street in Kincardine and lots of days at Boiler Beach. We were so lucky our mothers not only being sisters were also best friends. After they moved we would go visit them on occasion and they would come camping in the summer to Kincardine We had many fun days on the beach. I am three years older than Kim but I remember having her come and have sleepovers with me. She use to claim I made the best bologna sandwich ever....quite the chef I was apparently in her young eyes. Kim & I did not see each other often as adults. I moved to Edmonton and have lived here now for over 40 years. But we did get together on occasion when I was in Kincardine . I remember when I was pregnant Kim had just had Derek and they made the trip up to visit along with our Moms ...both so pleased that we had and almost had become moms. I think the next time I saw Kim was when Trevor was a wee fellow and Rebecca was soon going to be the next member of their family....they were all camping at the campground by the Pav with Robert & Sylvia.& family...just like old times except now we apparently were the adults... We had a great family reunion in 2004 in Kincardine at my sister Kerry Lyn's & husband's Doug's home to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. Both McIntosh sisters were there in wonderful form! The last time I saw Kim was last March at my mom's funeral. She was so pleased to be a Grandma. Steve, Derek, Trevor, & Rebecca I am so sorry for your loss. You know family was everything to Kim. I knew Kim wasn't feeling well last spring when I last saw her but did not expect that would be our last visit...I remember telling Steve to look after Kim as they were leaving and Kim said don't worry he will and you did Steve right till the end.
