Kathleen Claire (nee Heverin) Putzu:
Passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday, September 15, 2023, at her home in Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 91.
Beloved wife to Adolfo for 55 years and cherished mother of Peter (Deb), Therese (Steven) Cabral, John (Kelley), and Anna-Marie and (Harold).
Loving Granny of Anthony, Kathlina, Madeline, Tyler, Lucas, Ryan, Joshua, Sienna and Gavin.
Dear sister of Patrick and John.
Predeceased by her siblings Peter, Briege, Oliver, and Maura.
She will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends in Ireland and Italy.
Kathleen studied and graduated from nursing in Belfast, Northern Ireland before coming to Canada to work at St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto. In 1968, Kathleen married her love Adolfo and together they had 4 children. Kathleen stayed at home to raise her 4 children and she provided guidance, love, and support for her family, and lots of love and nourishment to her grandchildren.
Kathleen enjoyed her summer home in Sardegna for many years and a cottage in Point Clark, with beautiful family memories that we all will cherish forever in our hearts.
Kathleen loved watching and listening to birds and learning about them, and also loved tending to the flowers and plants in the garden as well as the home. She enjoyed reading daily, she was never alone as her little Rosie was always by her feet, but she had no greater love than that of her faith. Kathleen was a member of the Catholic Women's League at St. Mary's Church and her faith gave her the strength to overcome many challenges in her life.
Adolfo cared tirelessly for Kathleen and never left her side. We are forever grateful for all the love and devotion he showed, especially in the last 3 years following her stroke.
May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
