Beloved wife of Jerry for 41 years.

I had the privilege of having Judith as my teacher when I was a grade one student at Our Lady of Lourdes school. She was Miss Miller then! I remember a year full of fun, support, and warmth. I also remember the day she told us that she would be leaving our school in June and that she was getting married. We were so excited for her, but I also remember being so sad that she was leaving. My little heart broke that day, so I can only imagine what you are feeling now.

Judith made such an impression on me and I never forgot her. In fact, I myself have been a teacher for over twenty years and know that my experience in her classroom played a part in my becoming a teacher. There is a quotation that says, "They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel." Judith made me feel seen, heard and cared for, and I will be forever grateful for that. My condolences to your family and may the lifetime you shared with Judith where she made all of you feel seen, heard, and loved carry you through the days to come.

Warmly,
Shannon Harrigan

Judy helped me start a volunteer placement with the French classes at her school when I was thinking of applying to teacher's college. Though I only worked with her for a short time, I remember her warmth and care for all the students she supported, and the kindness she showed me to make sure I felt supported and welcome there.

The tributes that I have been reading here fit very well with the Judy who was a dear friend so many years ago at St. Jerome’s College in Waterloo. Those were wonderful times with lots of good memories. Judy was amongst the loveliest of all of these. In more recent years, Judy was a Facebook friend but neither of us was very active. I am particularly regretting not sharing more with her about Special Education. Ken and are so sad today to learn of her passing. We are sending prayers of faith and hope to her loved ones.

I saw Judy's obituary in the paper and wanted to let you know how much I appreciated working with her. I had the privilege of providing support to special education across a number of schools. Judy was tremendous in her role. Dedicated, organized, kind. She stood out even among other dedicated, organized and kind special education teachers. I am sure her students will hold a place in their hearts for her for many years. She helped so many of them. You must be missing her; my sincerest condolences.
