With great sadness we announce the passing of Judy Perkes on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Special friend and loving partner of John Lech.
Dear sister of Marilyn (the late Wayne) Murphy, the late Dave (Lynda) Perkes, the late Ruth (Jim) Hagey, and Tom (Lori) Perkes.
Will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by Andy Lech, Emma Lynn Lech, Mark Lech, Josh Lech and Priscilla, Sierra Yates and 15 month old Jack, Chyanne Yates and Isaac.
Predeceased by her parents Melburn and Ethel "Jo" Perkes.
Survived by step-mother Jennie Perkes (the late Mel Perkes) and by Aunt Florence Perkes (the late Tom Perkes).
Judy was a long time member of the Church of the Holy Saviour, Waterloo.
She was a retired First Vice President of the Elementary Teacher's Federation of Ontario, receiving the ETFO Provincial President's Award and was an Honourary Life Member of ETFO Waterloo.
Judy loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden. She loved taking photos of all flowers.
Judy's family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 12 to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, with a memorial service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
