Peacock (nee Heimpel), Judith (Judie) Margaret:
The family of Judie Peacock is saddened to announce her passing on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Hospice Wellington (Guelph) due to a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 79.
Beloved wife of John for 59 years, dear Mother of Jeff (Helen) and Jen. Very loving Grandmother to Jackie. Survived by her brother Paul (Marilyn), sisters-in-law Marie Peacock and Jean Heimpel, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members. Judie will be truly missed by her loving family and by her many friends, all of whom have been a great support to her and her family during her illnesses. Predeceased by her parents Marie (Jacobi) and Eddie Heimpel and by her in-laws Cora (Scheifele) and Bill Peacock, Don Peacock, Bill Peacock, June and Alan Fogal and Carol and Gil Hogg. In the early 60’s, Judie belonged to the K-W Jaycettes, was President for a few years and enjoyed Chairing the Women’s Division of the Central Ontario Exhibition and assisting with costuming for the Annual Santa Claus Parade, both organized by the K-W Jaycees. When Judie & John moved into the Country, Judie was involved with Elora & District Minor Sports and was instrumental in organizing and chairing the Atom Tournament. She was also a representative for Ponsonby Minor Softball on Tri-County Softball Assn. Judie was a great supporter of Jeff in his hockey and both Jeff and Jen in their baseball. Judie was an Elementary School Secretary for 30 years and worked for the Wellington County and Upper Grand District School Boards at Elora Junior Public School, Salem Public School and retired from University Village Public School in Guelph. For over 40 years, Judie was involved in assisting John in his work with the Ontario Plumbing Inspectors Association and the South Central Ontario Branch of the O.P.I.A. Spring, summer and fall weekends for the past 15 years were spent with John at their trailer at Driftwood Beach Park where many close friendships were formed and Judie was a very active camper. Special thanks to the many Drs. and Nurses at Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, especially her Chemo Oncologist Dr. Elaine Bouttell and her Nurse Jen Dahmer, her Radiation Oncologist Dr. Gopal, to the radiation technologists and chemo nurses who administered her treatments, to Dr. Nagpal, her Respirologist, to Dr. Hewak, to her Colon Cancer surgeon Dr. M. Ward, to Dr. Claire Reade at Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton and to Dr. Robinson and the great staff of the Chemo Suite at Guelph General Hospital. Thanks also to the nurses and doctors at Guelph General Hospital & Hospice Wellington, who took care of Judie over the past month.

Visitation and sharing of memories with the family will take place from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00pm on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 at Henry Walser Funeral Home (507 Frederick St, 519-749-8467. Celebration of Life in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday. September 4th, 2019 at 1:30pm. Reception to follow. Cremation will take place following the service and Judie will be laid to rest at a private family burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
