Joyce Ann Schaffer
1931 - 2023
Passed away peacefully on July 30th, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital, after a brief illness at the age of 92.
Joyce leaves behind her beloved husband of 72 years, John Schaffer. She was a loving mother to Sharon and Wendy, and mother-in-law to Paul McGuire and Paul McDougall. Joyce was a wonderful and proud grandmother to Megan and James. She will be remembered dearly by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was predeceased by her sister Bernice, brother Jerome, and son-in-law Rick Murray.
Joyce’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital 3rd floor East, Cardiac Care Unit for their gracious care in the past few weeks.
Cremation has taken place. Joyce’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:30 AM with a reception to follow.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation - Cardiac Care would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at the funeral home.
