Went to celebrate Christmas in heaven on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Marion Louise (nee Bode). Loving father of Jennette (Marcel Ethier), Paul (Susan), Rev. Mark (Karen), Trudy Anne (Tracy Weir) and Denise (Bill Sampson). Proud grandfather of Jennifer (Paul), Joseph (Lisa), Anna (Peter), Joseph (Meagan), B.J. (Burgundy), Emily Louise, Hailey (George), Andy and great grandfather of Aaron, Joshua, Lucas, Leita, Elsie May, Kaleb, Charleigh and Finnley. Dear brother of Don, Russ and the late Jerry, Jack, Helen, Basil and Calvin. Our thanks to Al and Marg and dad's newest angels, Beth, Lina and Shannon. A special thanks to Tracy for being dad's chauffeur.
Joe's family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 10-10:45 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Ave., Kitchener. Funeral Service at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Roland Syens officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
