The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Guberney can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Papa, For as long as I can remember back, you have always been a consistent, loving, and very active support in my life. Some of my favourite memories were our special times alone. As a child, I could count on you taking me for ice cream - before dinner, as I had children of my own, I loved our walks on the beach, and more recently, I would drop in to visit or you would call to check in on me. I still can see you sitting my back deck, enjoying your beer in the sunshine, celebrating your grandchildren and great children, soaking in the moment, your pride for your family, and all of our accomplishments. Sharing my new home with you that day, was one of my proudest moments. You sharing your life with me and my children, has been the greatest gift you could ever give. I have so much gratitude for the memories you gave me, for loving my children so very much and playing such an active role in their lives. We miss your smile already and hearing “I love you on the phone”. You always ensured to tell us that, every time before you hung up. We always knew, we were so loved. You are incredible. I am so very blessed to have shared life with you. You have shaped me into the parent and person I am today. Rest In Peace with Nana, please don’t ever stop watching over me. I hope to come close one day, to being the grandparent you were. I love you xox
