Gofton, John Robert
Passed away at home holding the hands of his wife and daughters on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the age of 74, after a courageous 3½ year journey with cancer.
Cherished husband to Sheryl (nee White) Gofton for 49 years.
Treasured father of Rachel Williams (Jeremy) and Robin Gofton (Aaron Meyer). Beloved Poppy to Emily and Nathan Williams and Raina, Joel, Adam and Laurel Meyer.
Dearly loved brother to Sue Haddow (Chris) and brother-in-law to Stephanie and Fred Cox, Jon White and Marian Killorn, Steve White and Beverly (White) Colpitts (deceased). John will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and other extended family.
John had two more extended families: one, in his wonderful colleagues at The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Greater Ontario Branch, - the best people ever to work with and, at the same time, the beloved Men’s Breakfast Group at Brant Hills Presbyterian Church.
John's family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:15 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467. A celebration of John’s life will follow at 1:30 pm in the chapel of the funeral home or please join the family for the service via livestream https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming. The livestream will start at 1:15 pm just prior to the service.
