Obituary for John George Bauman

Bauman, John "Jack":

Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital at the age of 75. Beloved husband of the late Louise Bauman (2010). Dear father of Christine (Neil) Romahn, Lori (Mike) Jensen and Jason (Renee) Bauman. Loving partner to Darlene Shantz. Cherished grandpa of Evan.

Survived by sisters Adelle Fay, Donna Palubiski and sisters-in-law Marlene Bauman and Grace Lennox, and brothers Doug (Barbara) and Herb (Mary). Predeceased by his parents, Norman and Doretta, brothers Alvin, Paul, Harold and brother-in-law Joe Fay.

Dad had a smile and disposition that could light up any room. There was always a joke or a quirky saying thrown into every conversation. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He would "give the shirt off his back" for anyone in need. Following a long career with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, dad kept busy working various part time jobs. His true passion, however, was restoring antique cars and tractors and sharing this adventure with other car enthusiasts. Dad's love of all things "farming", kept him searching for new fields to plow and tractors to restore. Dad preferred a simple life filled with family - immediate and extended.
