Gogos, Joanna:
Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 81.
Beloved wife of 60 years to Dimitrios. Loving mother of John Gogos, Koula Bak (Dennis), Peter Gogos and Nick Gogos.
Cherished grandmother of Deanna Green (Jim), Stephen Bak (Tess) and Katherine Bak (Jacob) and great grandmother of Julia Green.
Dear sister of Steve Kolinas (Helen), Gloria Solakis (George).
Joanna was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family and home meant the world to her. From a young age, Joanna had so many talents including making beautiful dresses, crocheting and needlepoint artwork. She was an amazing cook, baker, avid gardener and loved her plants and flowers. Cooking and baking for her family gave her such joy and her famous pita and baklava was loved by many. Joanna was always so welcoming to all and gave the best hugs and “Greek kisses”. She will be greatly missed.
Joanna's family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. (Trisagion at 7:00 p.m.) on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 527 Bridgeport Rd, Kitchener. Interment at Parkview Cemetery followed by a reception at Golf's Steak House.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, The Working Centre or The SickKids Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
