Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Michael for 24 years. Step mother to Christina Pannetiere (Donny) of Pennsylvania and Marney Wedlake of London. Grandmother of Ava and Sara. Dear friend of Dave and Ruth. Predeceased by parents, Alfred and Lorna Schmidt, and sister, Bev.
Joan had many fond memories of her childhood growing up in Stratford, ON. She moved to Kitchener in 1980 and enjoyed a 17 year career helping others as a real estate sales representative and many of her clients became her close and dear friends.
Private cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
In memory of Joan's love and passion for animals, especially her cats, donations to the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
