Obituary for Joan Margaret Janzen (Windeatt)

Janzen, Joan (Nee Windeatt):
Passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer, on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 78. Beloved wife of John Janzen. Loved mother of Sherry (Brian) Taylor, Cindy (Larry) Townsend, Candi (Larry) Brooks and Glenn (Jodie) Duffield. Nana to Bill (Hilary), Craig (Beth), Aimee, Scott (Courtney), Greg, Joshua, Meghan and Colin. Great grandmother to Emma. Dear sister of Billie (Les), Ruth (late Doc) and Bob (Marlene). Predeceased by her sister Mary-Ellen (late Jack). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Joan's family will receive friends and relatives at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 2 - 2:45 pm. A memorial celebration of her life will be held in the chapel at 3 pm followed by a reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to First Church of Christ, Scientist, 58 Water St.,N, Kitchener, N2H 5A8 would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Our grateful thanks and deep appreciation is extended to our family, friends and neighbours for their expressions of sympathy and kindness shown during the illness and loss of our wife, mother, Nana and great-grandmother. Special thank-you to the staff of the Grand River Hospital ICU and Cancer Centre, Doctors Bouttell and Kobeleva, Alicia from CCAC, PSW Barbara and home nurses from Red Cross Care Partners for the loving care, attention and compassion Joan and family received.
