Obituary for Joan Mary Ferraccioli

Ferraccioli, Joan Mary;

Ferraccioli, Joan Mary;

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Mary's Hospital on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the age of 87.

Predeceased by her best friend and husband Guy Michele Ferraccioli (2008). Loving mother of Guy (predeceased - 2015), Patti (David) Gloor, Rob, Paul (Denise) and Maria. Survived by her daughter-in-law Joanne. Proud grandmother of Katie (Rémi), Laura (Doug), Jessica (Beau), Christopher (Kasandra), Rebecca (Szilveszter), Alicia (Kenny), Joey (Angel), Gwyneth, Liam, Emma and 7 great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Murray and Betty Collier. Dear sister of Carol (Dennis), Peter (Lynn), Cathy and the late Larry. Survived by sisters-in-law Jean and Lucy. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and their families.

After raising her 5 children Joan worked at Sears in the Ladies Apparel department for more than 26 years. She had a love of learning – earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 from St. Jerome’s University. She truly lived life to the fullest, whether she was travelling the world with her husband, riding the newest roller coaster, walking around the edge of the CN Tower, attending a Probus meeting, volunteering at a nearby elementary school or with various groups within her parish. She had the ability to see the good in everyone and everything. Her genuine kindness and humility was evident through her ministry work at St Francis Church in Kitchener, where she was an active member for many years. Her faith was insurmountable, and she was deeply committed to God.

Joan was a devoted daughter and mother. She loved being a grandmother, saying that it gave her the opportunity to nourish her own inner child.

She will be deeply missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 49 Blueridge Ave, Kitchener on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 11 a.m., with Fr Paul Voisin officiating. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Francis of Assisi Church (cards available at the Henry Walser Funeral Home).
