Leis, Jeanne (Nee Shantz):
Peacefully, on May 27th, 2022 at Innisfree House, Jeanne Elizabeth Leis passed away with her family by her side, at the age of 76. Jeanne was predeceased by her loving husband, Ralph Leis (1998). Jeanne was the beloved mother to Jennifer (Arsalan) Shahi. She was the wonderful grandmother to Dustin Shahi (girlfriend, Jessica) and Cameron Shahi (fiancee, Randi) and special grandma to Maral Atabakhsh (Joe).
Jeanne was a sibling to Lois (Tom) Broda, Ross (Jean) Shantz, and Larry (Cindy) Shantz and sister-in-law to late Catherine Bartman, Erma (Ervin) Steinmann, Arvilla (late Vernon) Leis, Florence (late Harold) McFarlane. She will be missed by nieces and nephews, Jody (Dana), Tim (Amy), Brent, Laura (Grant), Kristie (Herb), Jason (Kayla), Amber and Carlie and their families. She will be missed by many extended family and friends.
Jeanne was a faithful member of Pioneer Park Church of God. She was also a member of the Wayne Gilpin Singers and a former member of the auxiliary of Fairview Mennonite Home. She spent many years volunteering for the food bank at her church and also dedicated 10 years of volunteer service at Brigadoon Public School.
Jeanne's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 at 10:30 AM with a light reception to follow. Interment at Shantz Mennonite Cemetery 2473 Erbs Rd, Baden, ON, N3A 3M3. Those who are unable to attend Jeanne's service are invited to join the family virtually for the service on Thursday at https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming
