The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jan Ovcacik can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Dear John, Suzanne and Family,
We watched the service this morning for your wonderful dad, and the readings and tributes reminded me of when the three of us worked at Burka Architects and how truly kind he was and the fact that he was also always there to help.
Heather remembers him as always being charming and gracious.
You are in our thoughts.

Condolence: To Paul, John Jr. and your families,

We share in the grief and sadness you are facing at the passing of your father. It was truly an honour to know him, and be witness to his gentle, faithful, and compassionate character. Having the opportunity to spend time with Jan in his last couple weeks was truly a blessing for myself and children. He truly showed us that faith conquers all, and amidst all his suffering he still managed to keep us smiling and even share with the kids some chocolates. He will be missed truly, but is watching over us all. Our prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Odpocivaj v svatom pokoji Jan.

Condolence: I didn't know Jan very long, just short of a year, but I almost could say I knew him well because hexwas that was the kind of person. He was such a gracious gentleman and kind to each person equally. I felt as welcome as anyone in his company in our SSVP group.

I read somewhere he had been a volunteer, helping those in need at St. Mary's for 25 years and you could tell: he seemed to recognize that God had blessed him mightily in life with family and faith (and now with his beautiful grandchildren), that to serve and give back to those less fortunate made perfect sense. Jan also made us all laugh so much!!... and I just always felt better after volunteering with him or seeing him at Mass.

You will be missed very much, Jan. May the Angels guide you Home and set you next to Jesus where you belong. Prayers for family 💞

Condolence: Dear Paul and family,
We are very sorry for the loss of your Father. We are honoured and blessed to have known Jan who was such a wonderful human being. He was another grandfather to Nicky and James and we loved him very much. His smile, genuine kindness and his ability to make people laugh is what made him so special. His love for you, Nancy and the kids was so evident he wanted nothing more than happiness for you. May it bring you peace knowing that your parents are together again smiling down on you from Heaven. Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul will remain in our hearts forever. May he Rest In Peace.
Love,
Evie, Dave, James and Nicholas
