Neighbour

My husband and I met Jim when he filled in at West Park Baptist Church in London in 2004. I liked how he would sing somewhere in his sermon. The lyrics spoke powerfully alongside what he was sharing that day. During this time, we were also in the process of looking for a home in Kitchener and found one close to Jim & Adrienne's. They offered their home to me to rest in during an intense week of renovating and cleaning. Being 8 months pregnant and with a 1 1/2 year old, I so appreciated this and was genuinely touched by their kindness at helping people they barely knew and trusted me to come and go as needed. In those early years they also invited us to a neighbourhood BBQ they hosted so that we could further connect. We also enjoyed a few quick backyard neighbourly visits which help when you are "new in town". I always looked forward to reading their Christmas letter (that Jim delivered on his walk) and rejoiced with them as they reflected on a busy and exciting year. I recall once someone saying to me how joyful Jim appeared to be and was implying that no Christian is THAT happy. I had replied, "I've had the privilege to get to know them bit and he's (they are) the real deal!" Thank-you God for using and blessing Jim. He gave You all the glory. Praying for you Adrienne and the entire family.
