Obituary for James John Kennedy
Kennedy, James "Jim":
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Hospice Waterloo Region at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Barbara for 45 years. Proud father of Kevin (Lauren Fargo) and cherished grandfather Cole and Taylor. He leaves behind his brother, Jerry, nephew, Jason, and niece, Jennifer. Fondly remembered by his best friends, Maurice Pieper and Rob Neilly and all the other car guys. Special thanks also to our neighbour, Sharon. Predeceased by his father, Jerome, and his sister, Debra Ann.
Jim lived the dream all his life. He was married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Barbara (nee Hobbs). She cared for Jim right up until his final day. He was very proud of his son, Kevin, as a young boy, a man and now a father. Jim was also very fond of Lauren and thought the world of her for being a wonderful partner to Kevin and mother to Cole and Taylor. Jim himself was always a family man and had a love for classic cars. Jim worked as a custodian at Carmichael Public School and Forest Heights Collegiate.
As per Jim's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or service. Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
