Kschesinski, Irene (nee Sodtke):
Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, July 17th, 2023 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in her 82nd year.
Irene was a devoted wife for 58 years to Erich Kschesinski. She was a cherished mother to Steven (Melanie) Kschesinski, Christine (John) Lassel and Connie Kschesinski. Loved Omi to Emma (Matt), Spencer (Leah), Nicole (David), Brittany and Kevin and special Great-Omi to Kinsley and Paityn. Irene will be missed by brothers Wilfred (Margaret) and Helmut and sister Lora (David). She will be remember by her nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her brother Siegfried and two other siblings in infancy.
Irene immigrated in 1948 from West Prussia, married Erich and farmed for 58 years in New Hamburg. She was an avid gardener, often bringing flowers and produce to share with friends at Christian Fellowship Church as well as sharing advice on organic plant care.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Christian Fellowship Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
Irene's family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM on Monday, July 24th, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 10:30 AM with a light reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
