Obituary for Ian George Masters

Masters, Ian George:

Passed away in Freeport Hospital on December 29th, 2020. He was 89.

Mr. Masters was born to Zephaniah and Doris Masters. He emigrated from Kingston, Jamaica to work as a French polisher in London, England. He married Gilda McKenzie in 1957. The Masters moved to Canada where he found work at BF Goodrich as a tire builder in 1966. In 1995, he retired and spent his remaining time supporting his family.

Mr. Masters was a personable and caring individual. He always enjoyed doing outside yard work and maintaining the up keep of the house. He was very active by riding his bike and walking as he was very fit. He had a passion for cars, music, and fashion for he was well put together. He always put others before himself by sponsoring family and friends and putting them up until they found their way. He was always happiest when everyone else was happy.

Mr. Masters is survived by his wife, Gilda Masters; his children Howard, Lloyd and Valerie Masters; his grandchildren Howie Masters, Megan Masters, Savon Masters-Johnson, Eric Masters, Maliq Masters and Mikaila Jackson and his great grandchildren Haylee and London.

Mr. Master's family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 and again from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. Guests must RSVP for a time slot for the visitation by visiting www.henrywalser.com or calling 519-749-8467. Masks are mandatory. A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday January 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Guests are welcome to view the service at https://www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming. Private interment at Woodland Cemetery.
