Obituary for Ian Fraser Campbell

Ian Campbell

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Ian Fraser Campbell who passed away from heart complications in his home in Kitchener, Ontario on October 5, 2019 at the age of 56.

A beloved grandfather, father, son, uncle, cousin, dear friend, GO bus driver and HCRR train museum volunteer, he will be greatly missed and always remembered for his positive outlook on life, his never ending stories, his unique sense of humor and his ever giving heart.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Jackie Campbell (who passed in May of 2019) and his father Keith Campbell (d.2000). Ian leaves his son Fraser Campbell and wife Margaret Campbell; his daughter Katie Campbell-Smith and husband Nicholas Smith and grandchildren Griffin, Charlie & Emma Smith. Ian is also survived by his cherished mother Joyce Campbell of Oakville, Ontario and his sisters Kirsten Campbell and husband Mark Preston; sister Karen Campbell and husband Gavin Dandy and six nieces and nephews, Beatrice, Rosemary, Zoe, Quintessa, James & Robert as well as his large cohort of forty-five dear cousins and many more family and friends.

Ian was passionate about buses and old trains; loved working on them, driving them and sharing his passion with others. Ian started volunteering at the HCRR museum in his late teens and spent most of his free time there when he wasn't working or with his family.

A memorial service will be held for all who wish to attend at his favorite place; the Halton County Radial Railway (HCRR) Museum, on October 20th at 2 p.m.

The HCRR Museum is located at 13629 Guelph Line, Campbellville, ON L0P 1B0.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Halton County Radial Railway Museum in honor of Ian and his nearly 40 years of service.
