It is so appropriate that your dad's memory should be entwined with serving students - I couldn’t have articulated at the time what made Mr. Vardy different or why I liked him so much – but now, years of wisdom and life later – it was the intentional compassion – like he looked at me and thought, “you are worthy of knowing, and I am going to put energy into making sure you know that, planting seeds that will one day grow, and perhaps later you will know….that you matter.”
