Obituary for Herbie Beitz
Beitz, Herbert:
Passed away peacefully, with his beloved wife of 52 years, Diane (nee Hasson) and best friend of almost 70 years, Tom (Sharon) Otterbein, on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Freeport Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 82. Sadly missed by his brother, Clayton (late Rose) as well as brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlotte Beyerle (late Herb), Gary Hasson (Kerri), Rob Hasson (Karen), Jim Hasson (Wendy) and the late Beverly Hasson. Predeceased by parents, Herbert and Ertel, parents-in-law, Kathaleen and Jim Hasson, and siblings, Margaret, Elmer (Arlene), Harold (Mary). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Herbie was a second generation farmer in the Maryhill community. He also owned and operated Beitz's Horse and Carriage Services, a regular in the Oktoberfest parade.
Herbie's family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Maryhill, ON, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery. All are invited to a reception at Ariss Valley Golf and Country Club, 5700 Wellington Rd. 86, Ariss.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario, the Cardiac Fitness Association or the St. Boniface Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
