Bastian, Helen (nee Grubb)
Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Jerome Bastian (May 26, 2016).
Loving mother of Ken, Susan Graham (Bob), Murray (Lulu) and Robert (Susan).
Grandma to Ellen, Mackenzie, Keegan, Emily, Andre, Emile, Jerome, Jacob and Abigail (Brad). Helen is survived by her great-grandchild, Lincoln and sister-in-law Catherine Grubb.
Predeceased by her parents Albert and Susanna Grubb (nee Oberle).
Dear sister of the late Irene Fudger (John), Jerome Grubb, Leander Grubb and Lorne Grubb.
Dear sister-in-law of the late Alma Borys (Walter), Marie Kraemer (Ken), Wilfred Bastian (Yvonne).
Helen spent many volunteer hours putting together newsletters for the KW Right to Life and volunteering at St. Teresa R.C. Church. Helen loved taking care of her grandchildren, especially in the pre-school years. Helen enjoyed gardening, attending Parish card parties, and cooking Sunday supper for her family. Helen was a proud member of the Catholic Women's League for 41 years.
Helen's family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener. Parish prayers 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.
Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at St. Teresa's R.C. Church, 44 Leonard St., Kitchener followed by a reception in the parish hall.
Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery following the reception.
